Optical performance in a class of its own

image

A successful fusion of Nikon's optical and electronics technologies, the C1's resolution, contrast, and fluorescent image brightness are all top-class and "State of the Art." Image sizes of up to 2048 by 2048 at 12 bit image depth can be easily scanned.

FRAP capabilities
ROI scan with the optional Acousto Optical Modulator (AOM)*; scanning can be restricted to the target area-perfect for Fluorescence Recover After Photobleaching (FRAP).
*AOM is optional for the 3-laser unit. The standard 4-laser unit includes AOTF.

Interchangeable filters

image

Changing the filter to match the fluorescent dyes you want to use is simple and quick, enabling the use of the latest probes or dyes currently available.

3-channel simultaneous detection

image The C1 supports almost any imaging technique currently required, including simultaneous 3-channel fluorescence, 3-channel plus DIC, time-lapse recording, and spatial analysis.

Modular design saves space and facilitates upgrading

image All main components are modular including the laser box, scanner head, and detector module, saving desk space and allowing easy upgrades and maintenance. The scanner head can be easily mounted on either upright or inverted microscopes.

Intuitive software allows all the settings and procedures required to capture live images to be performed in a single window

image

The VBA Macro environment has been incorporated, allowing users to record a series of operations and write their own customized programs. Tiff-Converter and Acquire-Setting Reproduction programs have also been pre-installed.

Crosstalk-free

image

Images can be captured without crosstalk via sequential scan.

3D imaging via a simple yet versatile operation menu

image

image3D images can be captured with four simple mouse clicks.
1. Decide the upper limit of the specimen.
2. Decide the lower limit of the specimen.
3. Activate the Z image mode.
4. Click to capture.
imageStereograms can be created through volume rendering.
imageAny cross-sectional layer can be displayed.

Time lapse

image Most effective for observing changes of living cells over time.
Main functions that can be set:

image3D imaging or sequential scan intervals
imageFrame intervals
imageNumber of images to be captured

High performance objectives

Apochromat TIRF series

image

These objectives have the highest NA, at 1.49, of all Nikon objectives. These objectives have a temperature correction ring that can correct spherical aberration resulting from temperature-induced changes in the refractive index of the immersion oil from 23กษ (room temperature) to 37กษ (physiological temperature).

Plan Apochromat VC objectives

image

Excellent resolution up to the edges of the view field and an extremely high image flatness level. Shading has been eliminated by improving the light intensity around the edges of the view field. Axial chromatic aberration has been corrected up to 405nm (h line)?perfect for confocal applications.
